2022 Kia Niro EV for Sale in West Springfield, MA

Overview
The 2022 Kia Niro EV is making a statement in the electric vehicle segment. That starts with an EPA-estimated 239-mile driving range, but the Niro also has many of the familiar comforts and handsome styling elements that you’d find in a traditional gasoline-powered crossover. With that said, if state-of-the-art technology and exceptional storage solutions are among your must-haves, then the ’22 Niro EV is a shoo-in for your short list. Plus, if you’re one who likes to keep a vehicle for a long time, you’ll have plenty of peace of mind knowing that Kia provides exceptional warranty coverage, including powertrain protection for 10 years/100,000 miles.
Trims and EV Powertrain
Kia’s 2022 Niro EV is a compact front-wheel drive crossover made in a pair of trim choices: the EX and EX Premium. Both are outfitted with a 64-kWh battery pack that provides an estimated driving range of 239 miles and an electric motor that puts out a commendable 201 hp and 291 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Niro EV supports both Level 1 (120V) and Level 2 (240V) charging. For the fastest possible charge, its standard 100-kW DC fast-charge capability can provide 100 miles of range in approximately 30 minutes and an 80 percent charge in a little over an hour. What’s more, the ’22 Niro EV can gain a little extra power on the road thanks to its regenerative braking system, which captures the otherwise lost kinetic energy formed during the braking process and storing it in the battery to incrementally extend the range.
Standard and Optional Features
The ’22 Niro EV provides a diverse slate of amenities in both trims. The EX proves it’s not your average base trim with great features like remote start, heated front seats, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, power-folding and heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, roof rails, fog lights, proximity entry, push-button ignition, a power driver’s seat, a 12-volt power outlet and USB port, a 7-inch LCD gauge cluster, and a 60/40-split fold-down rear seatback. Its infotainment system can be controlled via its 10.25-inch touchscreen (large for this class) or voice recognition. The system houses an upscale Harman Kardon sound system with eight speakers, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and navigation.
Choosing the EX Premium means you’ll get a sunroof, blue-accented synthetic leather seats, ventilated front seats, adjustable mood lighting, stainless-steel door-sill scuff plates, and a cover for the cargo area. The optional Cold Weather Package is offered on both the EX and EX Premium to add a heated steering wheel, a battery heater that improves battery function in cold weather, and a heat pump that helps extend battery range in cold weather.
Active Safety and Multimedia Technologies
The Kia Drive Wise assortment of driver aids is standard in every Niro EV. In the EX, it includes forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist, and rear occupant alert. The EX Premium is enhanced with rear parking sensors.
