2022 Kia Niro Hybrid for Sale in West Springfield, MA
It wasn’t all that long ago when Kia revealed their Niro Hybrid at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. At the time, most hybrids could easily be distinguished by their unmistakable body style, but when the gas-electric Niro entered the picture, it showcased a classic look that more closely resembled its stylish nonhybrid counterparts. But that’s not the only thing that gave the Niro Hybrid an edge over the competition. In addition to its sensible style, the Niro Hybrid is also valued for its practicality, fuel efficiency, and generous 5-year/60,000-mile basic and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranties. For 2022, the Niro Hybrid continues its winning ways with those attractive attributes while also showing off Kia’s edgy new logo and introducing the LXS Special Edition trim level.
Trims, Powertrain, and Efficiency
Kia presents the 2022 Niro Hybrid in a quintet of levels: LX, LXS, LXS Special Edition, Touring Special Edition, and EX Premium. Their hybrid powertrain pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined system output of 139 horsepower. A dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drivetrain complete the mechanical picture. The model’s fuel economy is outstanding, with the LX getting an estimated 54 mpg around town and 48 mpg on the highway according to the EPA’s official estimates. The LXS, LXS Special Edition, and EX Premium are rated for 51 city/46 highway, while the Touring Special Edition achieves 46 city/40 highway.
