Kia presents the 2022 Niro Hybrid in a quintet of levels: LX, LXS, LXS Special Edition, Touring Special Edition, and EX Premium. Their hybrid powertrain pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined system output of 139 horsepower. A dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drivetrain complete the mechanical picture. The model’s fuel economy is outstanding, with the LX getting an estimated 54 mpg around town and 48 mpg on the highway according to the EPA’s official estimates. The LXS, LXS Special Edition, and EX Premium are rated for 51 city/46 highway, while the Touring Special Edition achieves 46 city/40 highway.
