New Kia 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale in West Springfield, MA
The 2022 Kia Seltos returns for its sophomore model year with a distinctive exterior complemented by tiered headlights, available two-tone paint, and sculpted body panels. Although it’s a subcompact crossover, its cabin is spacious and offers soft-touch materials and other upscale touches. Kia continues to pack the Seltos with value; for instance, upgraded safety technology is standard across the lineup, and most trims feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. The turbocharged Seltos Nightfall Edition also debuts, combining rugged style with crossover practicality. On that note, the Seltos offers another surprise: 62.8 cubic feet of available cargo space (with the rear seat folded flat) – quite a feat in this vehicle segment. Like every Kia, the Seltos is backed by the automaker’s extensive warranty: 5 years/60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage, 10 years/100,000 miles of powertrain protection, and a 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance plan.
Trims and Powertrains
TThe five-passenger 2022 Kia Seltos comes in a quintet of trim levels: LX, S, EX, Nightfall Edition, and SX Turbo. For the LX through EX, power comes from a 146 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine managed by a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Nightfall Edition and the SX Turbo get a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder (175 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque) with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. All-wheel drive is standard on all ’22 Seltos trims except the S, where it’s offered as an upgrade to the standard front-wheel drive.
The EPA’s official estimates for trims with the 2.0-liter engine are 27 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the highway, which ticks up to 29 city/35 highway for the front-wheel-drive S trim. Those with the turbocharged powertrain get 25 city/30 highway.
Standard Features and Packages
Kia gives the LX 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, keyless entry, tinted rear windows, cruise control, front and rear skid plates, power side mirrors, a tilt and telescopic steering column, manual air conditioning, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The S adds fog lights, LED daytime running lights and taillights, rooftop rails, heated power side mirrors, automatic climate control with second-row vents, cloth and leatherette seating, a leather steering wheel and gear-shift knob, and a rear center armrest.
The EX adds more equipment to the S trim, including exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels, a power sunroof, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat with lumbar control, a wireless phone charger, a proximity keyless entry system with push-button start, and upgraded sun visors with illumination and extension. The Nightfall Edition drops the sunroof, power driver’s seat and wireless charger and swaps in SofTex for the leatherette. It also gets unique 18-inch black wheels and other blacked-out exterior elements.
The SX Turbo builds on the EX’s equipment level (minus the sunroof) by adding LED headlights and fog lights, trim-specific 18-inch alloy wheels, an electronic parking brake, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 7-inch LCD driver information display, a sport steering wheel, and a cargo cover. The sunroof can be added as an option. A package adding a two-tone roof and upgraded outside mirrors is offered for the S, Nightfall Edition, and SX Turbo.
Advanced Safety Technology
All Seltos trims include a suite of advanced driver aids, with more technologies added to the higher trims. The base package contains forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, and automatic high beams. The Nightfall Edition and above also get blind-spot collision avoidance and rear cross-traffic assist. The SX Turbo receives additional safety upgrades, including enhanced forward collision mitigation with cyclist detection, safe exit assist, highway driving assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The LX gets an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with a six-speaker audio system. Its other features are Bluetooth for phone use and audio streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Siri Eyes Free, and a USB audio input/charging port. The higher trims get a 10.25-inch touchscreen, additional USB charging ports, UVO link, voice-command navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The SX Turbo is the only trim that gets a standard Bose audio system.
