2023 Kia Seltos for Sale in West Springfield, MA

Overview

The subcompact crossover class is full of sharp-looking vehicles, but there’s something about the 2023 Kia Seltos that warrants a double take. Ever since it arrived on scene in 2021, the Seltos (which derives its name from Celtos, the son of Hercules in Greek mythology) has earned significant praise for its appearance, performance, advanced amenities, and ample 62.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Each of those traits goes a long way in the auto world, and the ’23 Seltos has them all. What’s more, Kia includes industry-leading warranty coverage (5 years/60,000 miles basic and 10 years/100,000 miles powertrain) to give Seltos drivers peace of mind for the long haul.

Trims, Powertrains, and Fuel Economy

Five trims are available with the ’23 Seltos: LX, S, EX, Nightfall Edition, and SX. The first three in the lineup get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 146 hp; it’s joined to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Meanwhile, the Nightfall Edition and SX receive a 175 hp turbocharged 1.6-liter engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. All-wheel drive is standard on every trim except for the S, which has standard front-wheel drive. If you want the added capabilities of AWD, it can be ordered at an extra cost. According to the EPA, the 2.0-liter models achieve an estimated 27 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, while those with the turbocharged mill return 25 city/30 highway. If you get the S with FWD, it will give you 29 city/35 highway.

Standard Amenities

As the most basic Seltos trim, the LX gets keyless entry, two 12-volt power outlets, a front console USB data port, a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, and a dual-level cargo floor. A two-tone exterior, a rear spoiler, and front and rear skid plates set the S apart visually. It also provides bang for your buck with roof rails, heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, heated side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, Smart Key (Kia’s proximity entry system), remote start, push-button ignition, LED interior lighting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, USB charging ports, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a rear-seat center armrest with cupholders.

The EX may not have the S’s eye-catching two-tone exterior, but it flaunts a sunroof, fog lights, wireless phone charging, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a rear passenger seatback pocket. The Nightfall Edition omits the sunroof, power driver’s seat, and wireless charger, but the trade-off is a more potent engine and blacked-out exterior accents. The SX is a mix between the S and EX, with LED headlights, a 7-inch instrument cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a racing-inspired flat-bottomed steering wheel.

Multimedia and Entertainment

Every trim comes with a full arrangement of airbags, but if you want to take the ’22 Spark’s safety to the next level, you can add the optional Driver Confidence Package to the 2LT. It provides forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning. Even without the package, the 2LT has standard rear park assist, a system that alerts you of objects behind your vehicle to help make parking easier. OnStar communications services are also standard across the board to provide emergency assistance in the event of a collision.

Safety Technologies

The Kia Drive Wise suite of active safety technologies is standard in the 2023 Seltos. The LX has forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane following assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert. The S, EX, and Nightfall Edition are enhanced with blind-spot collision-avoidance assist and rear cross-traffic alert, while the high-grade SX gets the deluxe treatment with all of the above plus adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist, and safe exit warning.
