Trims, Powertrains, and Performance

The 2024 Kia Telluride seats up to eight (depending on its second-row configuration) and is made in four main trims: LX, S, EX, and SX. From there, a handful of sub-trims are offered. The EX and SX can be ordered with an X-Line upgrade, but the SX is further broken down into X-Pro, Prestige, Prestige X-Line, and Prestige X-Pro.

Regardless of the trim level, every ’24 Telluride has a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 291 hp and 262 lb.-ft. of torque and is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard in the LX, S, EX, and SX, but all-wheel drive (which is standard in the remaining trims) is available. Each trim has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lb., too. When it comes to fuel economy, FWD Tellurides return 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, whereas those with AWD achieve 18 city/24 highway.

Remarkable Equipment

The L trim comes with remote start and Smart Key proximity entry, as well as these exterior features: automatic LED headlights, amber-colored LED daytime running lights, 18-inch wheels, a sound-absorbing windshield, heated side mirrors, and rear privacy glass. Its standard interior features include push-button start, SynTex simulated-leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated vanity mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, 60/40-split second- and third-row seats (the second-row seat has a seamless one-touch slide function), and a dual-level cargo floor. For tech, there’s a 4.2-inch gauge cluster, five USB-C charging ports, three 12V power outlets, and a quite mode setting for tranquil road trips.

The S adds roof rails, 20-inch wheels, a twin-tip exhaust, a wireless phone charger, a leather-wrapped shift knob, heated front seats with driver’s power adjustments, and 50/50-split folding second-row seats (which reduce seating to seven). The EX returns the 60/40-split second-row seat, putting the seating capacity back to eight (although the 50/50-split seat remains optional). It also comes with a power liftgate, power-folding side mirrors, LED taillights, a sunroof, an additional USB-C charging port, ventilated front seats with power passenger-side adjustability, leather upholstery, woodgrain interior trim, LED interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and second-row sunshades.

The more dramatic-looking EX X-Line is enhanced with high-utility roof rails, gloss-black exterior elements and unique X-Line bodywork, a heated steering wheel, and the 50/50-split second-row seat. The SX builds off the EX with LED fog lights, aero wiper blades, reverse gear tilt-down side mirrors, a posture-supportive driver’s seat with thigh extension, position memory for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, a dual-panel sunroof, stainless-steel scuff plates and pedals, and ambient interior lighting. This trim also has a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a HomeLink universal garage door opener, an in-car intercom system (Driver Talk), and Digital Key.

The SX X-Line resembles the EX X-Line, but with many of the same refinements as the SX. Meanwhile, the SX X-Pro variant welcomes all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels and a household-style 110V power outlet. The SX Prestige takes after the regular SX trim, but with heated and ventilated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, Nappa leather upholstery, a SynTex suede headliner, a 10-inch head-up display, a 110V power outlet, rain-sensing wipers, and a digital rearview mirror. The X-Line and X-Pro versions of the SX Prestige are similar to the X-Line and X-Pro models, but with the bells and whistles found in the SX Prestige.

Driver-Assist Technologies

The Kia Drive Wise bundle of advanced safety equipment comes standard in the ’24 Telluride. The version found in the LX, S, EX, and EX X-Line includes forward collision-avoidance assist (with cyclist, pedestrian, and junction turning detection), blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, adaptive cruise control with highway driving assist automatic high beams, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention warning, rear occupant alert, and safe exit assist.

The SX and above trims are issued blind-spot collision warning with parallel exit assist, a live-feed blind-spot view monitor, an upgraded forward collision system (it adds junction crossing, lane change, and evasive steering assist), front parking sensors, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, a surround-view camera, and a more sophisticated adaptive cruise control system with machine learning and superior highway driving assist.

Infotainment

The Kia Connect 12.3-inch touchscreen is found in all trims with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The LX, S, EX, and EX X-Line all get a six-speaker sound system, but the SX and above advance to a really nice 10-speaker Harman Kardon unit.
