A lot of crossovers look alike these days, but the 2025 Kia Soul takes a different approach with its refreshingly distinctive style. This unique subcompact crossover has cultivated a dedicated following through an unconventional design that makes everyday travel anything but ordinary. The Soul’s boxy yet aerodynamic silhouette supplies practicality without compromising on style, providing a generous 62.1 cubic feet of cargo space and an ample interior that comfortably seats five adults. Kia also equips the Soul with premium features, making it an attractive choice for budget-minded buyers who don’t merely want a bare-bones vehicle. To sweeten things further, the ‘25 Soul is backed by Kia’s industry-leading warranty coverage, which includes a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Efficiency

The 2025 Kia Soul is a front-wheel drive subcompact crossover made in four trims: LX, S, GT-Line, and EX. The powertrain pairs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (output: 147 hp) with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). According to the EPA’s official estimates, all trims achieve 27 mpg around town and 33 mpg on the highway, making the Soul a practical and fuel-efficient choice.

Amenities by Trim Level

The entry-level LX makes a favorable first impression with key features like cloth upholstery, remote keyless entry, a digital gauge cluster, power-adjustable side mirrors, manually adjustable front seats, a 60/40-split folding rear seatback, a USB data port, and automatic headlights. The S takes things up a notch with proximity keyless entry, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, push-button and remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and two front USB charging ports.

The GT-Line enhances the exterior with a few sporty design elements and gains leatherette upholstery with cloth accents, a leather-wrapped sport-design steering wheel and shift knob, heated side mirrors with built-in turn-signal indicators, a sunroof, and a folding rear center armrest with cupholders. It also qualifies for a few premium add-ons, such as heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, a dual-level cargo floor, a cargo cover, LED interior lighting, and LED exterior lights (headlights, fog lights, and taillights). Along with premium cloth upholstery and a 12V cargo-area power outlet, the EX gets most of the GT-Line’s optional features, minus the LED exterior lights.

Advanced Safety Features

Despite its affordable pricing, the ‘25 Soul is equipped with a wealth of advanced driver-assistance technologies courtesy of the Kia Drive Wise safety suite. This driver-confidence bundle includes forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, speed limit assist, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert. The LX is eligible for blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and lane change assist, which are standard in the S, GT-Line, and EX. The GT-Line is the only trim that’s eligible to add adaptive cruise control, highway driving assist, and an enhanced forward collision system with junction turning detection.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The ‘25 Soul's standard infotainment system consists of an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The higher trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio. For optimal sound reproduction, the GT-Line and EX qualify for a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with unique speaker lights featuring adjustable color themes.
