The lineup for the 2025 Sportage Hybrid consists of trims called LX, EX, and SX Prestige. Their hybrid powertrain pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with dual electric motors to produce a combined output of 227 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission completes this setup. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard for the LX, which is eligible for the all-wheel drivetrain (AWD ) that the EX and SX Prestige come with. The Sportage Hybrid can also tow up to 2,000 pounds – enough to accommodate a small trailer or boat. As mentioned above, the fuel economy is outstanding, with the FWD LX rated by the EPA to return 42 mpg city/44 mpg highway. Any trim with AWD will achieve 38 mpg in both city and highway travel.
The base LX packs in plenty of desirable features at an affordable price, including remote keyless entry, woven cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control with automatic de-fogging, power side-view mirrors, a wiper and washer for the rear window, a 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster, push-button start, two front USB ports (one Type-A data and one Type-C charging), a 60/40-split folding second-row seatback, a dual-level cargo floor, automatic LED projector headlights, LED taillights and daytime running lights, and 17-inch aero alloy wheels. The EX rises higher with heated front seats, proximity keyless entry, remote start with climate control (Kia Access app), SynTex leatherette upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, wireless phone charging, two USB-C ports in the second row, roof rails, heated power side mirrors with built-in LED turn indicators, a compact spare tire, and 18-inch alloy wheels with a machined finish. With the aforementioned Premium Package, the EX gets a power liftgate and a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade.
The range-topping SX Prestige gets the contents of the EX’s Premium Package and improves the seating situation with premium SynTex upholstery, ventilated front seats, position memory for the driver, and an eight-way power-adjustable passenger’s seat. It also has a heated steering wheel, an upgraded 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, LED interior lighting, solar-control glass, a sound-reducing windshield, low-profile roof rails, LED fog lights, LED rear combination lights, and 18-inch alloy wheels with a matte gray finish.
Every 2025 Sportage Hybrid trim has Kia’s Drive Wise safety suite installed. It bundles standard forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle detection), rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, automatic high beams, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert.
The two higher trims add blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, and safe exit warning. The SX Prestige alone is loaded with these bonus technologies: Remote Smart Parking Assist, Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot view monitor, superior forward collision-avoidance with junction turning detection, front parking sensors, and reverse parking collision-avoidance assist.
The 2025 Sportage Hybrid’s infotainment array puts Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming in every trim. While the LX is more basic with its 8-inch touchscreen, the EX and SX Prestige upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio. The LX and EX get a six-speaker audio system, but the SX Prestige is treated to a 400-watt Harman Kardon unit with HALOsonic and eight speakers. The Kia Connect smart connectivity system comes standard on all trims to integrate with your devices (smartphones, smartwatches, and smart speakers).
