The 2025 Kia Sportage PHEV comes at you in trim packages called X-Line and X-Line Prestige. They both employ a plug-in hybrid powertrain that pairs a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 261 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drivetrain round out this capable setup. As a PHEV, it has a 13.8 kWh battery that enables a 34-mile all-electric range. The EPA rates its fuel economy at an estimated 35 mpg for both city and highway driving, as well as a remarkable 84 MPGe. For added utility, it is capable of towing up to 2,000 pounds.
The X-Line provides exceptional value with its thoughtful array of premium features. On the interior you’ll find SynTex upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats with 10-way power adjustability for the driver, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, a 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seatback, and a dual-level cargo floor. Its key tech features include wireless phone charging, a 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster, Smart Key proximity entry, and multiple USB-C charging ports. Meanwhile, the exterior showcases a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, a power liftgate, remote start, roof rails, heated power-adjustable side mirrors with LED turn indicators, automatic projector-type LED headlights, LED taillights, and rugged black accents complemented by front and rear skid plates.
If you want even more refinement, look to the X-Line Prestige for heated and ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, position memory for the driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, and an upgraded 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Its exterior enhancements are LED fog lights, solar control glass, and upgraded LED rear combination taillights.
Both ’25 Sportage PHEV trims have the Kia Drive Wise suite of advanced safety technologies. Those components are blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist (with pedestrian, cyclist, and car detection), rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention warning with leading vehicle departure alert, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert.
The X-Line Prestige raises the bar with additional driving aids, such as a live-feed blind-spot view monitor, an enhanced forward collision system with junction turning detection, front parking sensors, reverse parking collision-avoidance assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a surround-view monitor, navigation-based smart cruise control, and highway driving assist.
A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system keeps the Sportage PHEV’s occupants entertained and in touch with built-in navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The X-Line comes with a six-speaker audio system, while the X-Line Prestige upgrades to an eight-speaker Harman Kardon setup featuring HALOsonic surround sound for the ultimate listening experience. A three-year trial subscription to Kia Connect (remote locking and unlocking, remote climate control, charging status, Find My Car, stolen vehicle recovery, and more) is also included.
