The 2025 Sportage trim range is extensive: it’s Kia’s way of ensuring a version for almost every buyer. There are seven grades: LX, EX, X-Line AWD, SX, SX Prestige, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 187 horsepower sits under the hood of each of them. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard on most trims, with all-wheel drive (AWD) optional (the SX is strictly FWD). AWD comes standard on the X-Line AWD, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige. An eight-speed automatic transmission manages both drivetrains.
With FWD, the Sportage achieves an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. With AWD, the ratings dip to 23 mpg around town and 27 mpg on the open road. There’s 74.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the front row, or 39.6 cubic feet when the second row is in use. When the 2025 Sportage is properly equipped, it can tow up to 2,500 pounds.
The LX focuses on the essentials, such as fabric upholstery, air conditioning, LED exterior lighting, power side-view mirrors, rear air-conditioning vents, a dual-level cargo floor, rear privacy glass, keyless entry, two USB ports, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The EX trim adds dual-zone automatic climate control, SynTex leatherette upholstery, a ten-way power driver’s seat with lumbar controls, heated front seats, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a 12.2-inch digital instrument display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated power side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, wireless device charging, dual second-row USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The X-Line takes on a sporty look with unique interior and exterior treatments, roof rails, and 19-inch gloss black-finished alloy wheels.
The SX trim features a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, a hands-free power liftgate, a driver’s memory system, low-profile roof rails, a leather-wrapped gearshift knob, LED interior lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, illuminated visor mirrors, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Going one step further is the SX Prestige, with heated and ventilated front seats, an eight-way power front passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, premium SynTex upholstery, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The X-Pro has most of the SX’s features while getting more ruggedized exterior touches plus a heated steering wheel, heated windshield glass, stainless-steel pedals, and all-terrain tires on 17-inch alloy wheels. The X-Pro Prestige expands on the X-Pro trim by adding heated and ventilated front seats and an eight-way power front passenger seat.
All 2025 Kia Sportages are equipped with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking (with car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection), lane-following assist, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, and driver attention warning. They also get a full set of airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill start assist control, downhill brake control, and a rearview monitor with parking guidelines.
Blind-spot collision avoidance assist and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist are added to all but the base trim. The SX and above also come with adaptive cruise control, upgraded automatic emergency braking with junction turning support, and highway driving assist. Exclusive to the SX Prestige and X-Pro Prestige are a blind-spot view monitor, a surround-view monitor, front parking sensors, and reverse parking collision avoidance assist.
While the LX has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the other trims are upgraded with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth are standard. The EX and above also have SiriusXM satellite radio and access to the Kia Connect app for remote start, cabin pre-cooling and heating, service reminders, and other features. A six-speaker audio system is the base arrangement, while SX and higher are treated to a Harman Kardon system with eight speakers.
