Design

The EV4 introduces a fresh interpretation of Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy to the electrified sedan segment. The production model will feature a distinctive silhouette that combines a low nose with a long-tail fastback profile, creating an attractive aerodynamic shape while retaining a visual connection to the EV6 crossover. The EV4’s front fascia will showcase vertical headlamps and Kia’s signature Star Map lighting pattern, which has become a hallmark of the brand’s electric vehicles.

At the rear, vertical taillights, a two-piece roof spoiler, and a unique bumper design will emphasize the car’s width and stance. Kia expects the EV4 to have a 0.23 drag coefficient. The GT-Line trim will get a distinct set of styling elements, including exclusive 19-inch wheels. For the interior, you can expect a minimalist, open layout headlined by an oversized panoramic display that integrates driver instrumentation with the infotainment system. Kia will balance simplicity and functionality to maximize passenger and cargo space.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2026 Kia EV4 should have three trims: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. Built on Kia’s dedicated 400-volt Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 will offer two battery options: the standard 58.3 kWh pack in the base Light trim and a 81.4 kWh upgrade in the Wind and GT-Line. Both configurations will power a 150 kW (approximately 201 horsepower) electric motor that drives the front wheels.

We expect the Light to provide around 235 miles of range, while the Wind and GT-Line should achieve approximately 330 miles on a full charge. With DC fast-charging capability, the EV4 will recharge from 10 to 80 percent in about 29 minutes with the smaller battery and 31 minutes with the larger pack. The standard North American Charging Standard (NACS) port will enable access to the Tesla Supercharger network. The EV4 will come equipped with Kia’s updated i-Pedal 3.0 variable regenerative braking system, which allows drivers to control speed and bring the vehicle to a complete stop using only the accelerator pedal. This feature will also work in reverse, and the system will remember the last-used setting upon restart.

Technology and Features

The technology centerpiece will be a nearly 30-inch combined display consisting of dual 12.3-inch screens and a 5-inch climate control display. This system will run Kia’s connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) interface, offering wireless smartphone connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with over-the-air update capability.

An available digital key application will allow owners to lock, unlock, and control vehicle functions remotely via compatible smartphones. The vehicle’s AI Assistant will use machine learning to provide more natural voice interactions between the driver and the car. We expect the EV4 to offer Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability on higher trims, allowing the vehicle to power external devices like laptops, lights, and small appliances – as well as being able to charge other EVs – making this Kia a valuable resource outdoors or in an emergency.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Every EV4 will come with a full suite of the latest advanced driver aids, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-following assist, driver attention warning, and speed limit assist. Buyers can also expect to have highway driving assist, which uses navigation-based adaptive cruise control to automatically adjust vehicle speed to match posted limits and maintain safe following distances on highways. On higher trims, Kia will likely include Remote Smart Parking Assist, which can autonomously park the vehicle with the driver inside or outside the car.
