Trims and Powertrains

Kia offers the 2026 Sportage Hybrid in five trim selections: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX-Prestige. All of them get a gas-electric powertrain consisting of a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a six-speed automatic transmission. The combined output of 232 horsepower represents a 5-hp increase from the previous. As the base trim, the LX comes with front-wheel drive while the other trims are upgraded with all-wheel drive.

With trailer brakes, the Sportage Hybrid can tow up to 2,000 pounds. The front-wheel-drive LX has been estimated by the EPA to achieve 41 mpg in city driving and 44 mpg on the highway. The AWD Sportage Hybrid trims return an estimated 35 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the open road.

Standard Features

Although the LX is the model’s entry point, it’s nonetheless well equipped with remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control (with second-row vents), proximity keyless entry, push-button start, automatic LED headlights, a 12.3-inch driver information cluster, rain-sensing windshield wipers, power side-view mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fabric upholstery, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, three USB-C ports, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The S adds heated front seats, a ten-way power driver's seat, heated power side-view mirrors with LED turn indicators, and 18-inch wheels. The EX adds premium amenities such as perforated SynTex leatherette upholstery, a power liftgate, wireless device charging, two additional rear USB ports, and illuminated sun visor mirrors. A panoramic sunroof with a power shade is optional on this mid-grade trim.

The X-Line’s upgrades are a panoramic sunroof (with a power shade), premium SynTex upholstery, power-folding side mirrors, unique exterior accents, LED interior lighting, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The SX Prestige is loaded with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, a driver's memory system, an eight-way power front passenger seat, a head-up display, cube-style LED headlights, LED fog lights, a digital key, and a solar-reflecting windshield.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

The 2026 Sportage Hybrid has numerous advanced driver-assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking (with pedestrian, cyclist, and junction-turning detection), lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rear occupant alert, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning. The S and above have blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit warning.

Blind-spot collision-avoidance assist and a blind-spot view monitor are added at the SX level, along with upgraded automatic emergency braking (with junction-crossing detection and evasive steering assist), reverse automatic braking, a surround-view monitor, side parking sensors, highway driving assist, and safe exit warning. All trims are set up with an array of airbags, stability and traction control, downhill brake control, hill start assist control, and a rearview monitor with parking guidelines.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2026 Sportage Hybrid boasts a panoramic dashboard display that integrates a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that brings together these must-have components: smartphone connectivity (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, over-the-air updates, and access to Kia connected services. The SX Prestige also gets navigation, voice recognition, and Wi-Fi hotspot capability. The lower trims have an unbranded six-speaker audio system, while the SX Prestige receives a Harman Kardon upgrade with eight speakers.
