2026 Kia Sportage PHEV
2026 Kia
Sportage Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)
The Sportage Plug-In Hybrid checks many boxes: spacious room for five, up to 34 miles of all-electric driving, and a total driving range of 470 miles on a single tank and a full charge. These advantages make a compelling case for this family-ready electrified crossover that splits the difference between conventional gas engines and all-electric power.
For 2026, Kia has refreshed the Sportage PHEV with updated exterior styling, including a flashy grille, revised front and rear bumpers, and new Star Map lighting designs. They didn’t ignore the interior either, giving it a two-spoke steering wheel and offering an available curved panoramic display that unites the driver instrumentation and the infotainment touchscreen into a single sweeping panel. Another 2026 upgrade is a fresh infotainment system driven by Kia's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit with new digital features for seamless integration with personal devices.
Meanwhile, Kia continues to offer leading warranty coverage, with five-year or 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper protection and powertrain safeguards for ten years or 100,000 miles. Owners are also covered with roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles.

The all-wheel-drive Sportage PHEV is made in two trims: X-Line and X-Line Prestige. Both are fitted with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motors to form a plug-in hybrid powertrain producing 268 horsepower. The gear changes are managed by a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 13.8 kWh battery requires about two hours to charge at 240 volts and provides a 34-mile all-electric driving range. The EPA-estimated combined fuel economy is 36 mpg. With trailer brakes, this model can tow up to 2,000 pounds. Cargo space starts at 34.5 cubic feet and expands to 65.5 cubic feet behind the first row.
