K4
All good things must come to an end, and the tried-and-true Kia Forte sedan has seen its final model year. But the saying is true: As one door closes, another opens. In this case, that open door lets in a stylish new four-door that reflects the changing times. Continuing the naming convention that began with the larger K5, this debuting model is called the K4. It’s slightly smaller – as is its price tag – making it a fine choice for anyone in the market for an attractive, affordable, and dependable daily driver.
The K4 has many prominent attributes, but its captivating design, contemporary amenities, and best-in-class rear headroom (37.3 inches) and legroom (38 inches) are what really make it stand out. There are two engines in the stable, one catering to economically minded commuters and the other – found on the GT-Line Turbo – that’s designed for enthusiastic drivers who crave more performance.

The 2025 Kia K4 is made in five trim levels: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo. The first four get the base powertrain, a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a CVT (Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission) and a front-wheel drivetrain. The zestier GT-Line Turbo is upgraded with a turbocharged 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
According to the EPA, the base LX returns an estimated 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, while the LXS, EX, and GT-Line achieve 29 mpg city/39 mpg highway. With its more robust engine, the GT-Line Turbo is rated for 26 city/36 highway.
